The Process
What feels great right now is the process.
The process of working toward something.
Something much greater than myself.
Being around the girls has taught me how important life is.
I’ve been learning how to put others before myself — and what makes the feeling even better is that it’s not for myself either — it’s for them.
I care about seeing them do great and succeed on the stage, so they get their moment to shine, because we all know success is not easy.
Success is failing over and over and over again and still not getting it right.
Sometimes you give up for a day or two, or even longer than that, until you experience something that pushes you to realize that what you’re doing will not work if you want to break through whatever situation or circumstance you are facing.
The decision to break this pattern of thinking has so much power — it defines you.
The decision to break a cycle of thinking and behaving is what allows you to succeed — this is success.
Now that you’re in this mindset, it’s about repeating this thinking pattern over and over. Then your confidence grows. Then you’re performing better. And now you’re feeling your best and finally having fun.
This is called the process.
The process isn’t pretty — it’s really ugly, and it’s definitely not the first thing people want to talk about. We’re so quick to talk about our success that sometimes it takes feeling like you’re starting over from scratch, all the way from the ground up. Most of the time, this is what we have to go through in order to grow.
Without growth, we’re nothing — especially if you’re driven and determined to live your life with purpose and intention.
This is what I wish people talked more about.
It’s taken experiencing this for what feels like my entire life to continuously level up to get to where I am right now. Being able to develop this joy comes from being able to teach, coach, and train these girls to become their best.
